I have to be quick here, but just wanted to send an update to let you know I’m in Germany. Someone drove my rental car into a pole, my computer crashed for two days, and the person I’m here with is driving me nuts. Otherwise, I’m having a blast!
So, after what’s been nearly a year now, I finally know more about our impending move! I spoke with the HR gal over there today, and while I’m out there next week I’ll visit the residency office and sign paperwork. After that, she said they’ll be ready for us by the first of April.

…at almost this exact moment, my mom was at a bridge tournament (fittingly enough) when her water broke. (Maybe this explains my intense repulsion to bridge, while I will happily compete in any other card game?)
Five hours later, out I squirmed.
