The Flip-Flopping of My Heart

I couldn’t resist. I wore flip flops to work today.
It seemed like such a good idea at the time… showing off my tanned tootsies to the two other souls in the office.
Then I stepped outside.
It was only minus six degrees (Celsius!) as I sat shivering in the car. And then I had to get back [...]

Africa: It’s SupaCoo!

We just got back from Durban, and one of the things that made me feel most at home was the overuse of the word “supa.” Yes, I know it’s not REALLY a word. Until now, I just thought it was something dumb that I said with my friends. BUT! In South Africa? We saw a [...]

Off to the airport…

And I couldn’t be more excited! Durban, here we come. I’m hoping for quality beach/reading time, good food, and maybe even an exotic elephant sighting.
Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Randomness…

I’ve been slackin’ on SupaCoo since NaBloPoBurnedDaF-OutMo ended, so I thought I’d update you all on German things.
Things that are stressing me out lately:

Christmas cards. Should we do them? Yes? Do you realize how big of family I have?
Taxes. For next year. Yeah, I know.

Things that I like:

Trip to South Africa next week.
Gluehwein and its [...]

That, for some reason, makes me [...]

There’s someone for everyone, I guess

I was reading this article about the horrendous murders in Jennifer Hudson’s family, and had to snicker at this quote:
She (his mother) said Balfour has an alibi — he was with one of his three girlfriends the night of the slaying.
Three??? THIS GUY???

I know plenty of single, non-homicidal, good-looking men who can’t find a good [...]

I guess I should take back that last part…

This is wrong on so many levels:
Krampus comes to Austria: On Dec. 5, men dressed in frightening goat masks roam villages terrifying children and spanking girls.

Preparing for Ol’ Saint Nick

Me: Hey babe, I was just talking to some people here about German customs, and I wanted to let you know that Saint Nick comes on Friday night. He leaves stuff for us in a sock or a bag or a boot to open on Saturday morning.
Him: Sweet!
Me: Yeah, I just wanted to mention this, [...]
